Karnataka Government vs Private Doctors: Strong Medicine?
When doctors hit the streets to protest - everyone is obliged to sit up and take notice. Especially when it means OPDs are shut and patients suffer. In Karnataka, doctors from the private sector were upset about amendments to a bill that planned to make changes in the world of private medicine - from capping charges of fees and treatments to even jail time for doctors who violate some of the proposed provisions. The government says it is thinking of the patients - the doctors say it is overkill.
