Schools, Colleges Shut Due To Heavy Rain In Coastal Karnataka
Heavy rain continues to disrupt normal life in coastal areas of Karnataka. The torrential showers have caused damage to life and properties in Mangaluru, Udupi and Karwar districts. Due to the downpour, rivers are in spate, agricultural fields and low-lying areas have been inundated. Landslides due to heavy rain have also been reported in Kodagu and Dakshina Kannada districts. All schools and colleges have been shut in coastal Karnataka. A 60-member team of the National Disaster Management Authority and 67-member team of state disaster management squad are on standby in case of a disaster.
