In some parts of Srinagar, empty streets proved that the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Jammu & Kashmir Police were in control. But in several parts, curfew was defied by groups of protestors. Some journalists were allegedly beaten by security personnel when they tried to report the situation.
