Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao seems to be consolidating his reach to the scheduled caste base ahead of the election two years from now. For the first time in this term, he held an all-party meeting on empowerment of backward castes and has announced schemes and measures that will cost the exchequer thousands of crores. This comes soon after a controversy over the custodial death of a woman from the community, from Khammam, that threatened to blow up into a major issue.
