Kerala: Animals to undergo DNA barcoding
Kerala will be launching an ambitious project next month for the DNA barcoding of all animal and plant species in the state. The project aims to create a comprehensive and an easily accessible database of all species and life forms to promote scientific research, which will in turn, give a big fillip to conservation efforts since the primary focus of the project will be on endangered species and on threatened ecosystems.
