Seven members of the Students' Federation of India (SFI), the student wing of Kerala's ruling CPIM party, have been suspended from a government college in Thiruvananthapuram following accusations of assaulting a first-year student. The suspension was implemented after the college's anti-ragging cell investigated the complaint and submitted a report. A police case has also been filed against the seven individuals, with charges including violations of the Kerala Prohibition of Ragging Act and various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
