In a significant move by the Kerala High Court, a digital high court branch has been set up in Kollam. Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud launched the branch. It is the country's first exclusive digital court to deal with cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act. Those who don't have personal internet connections can access the portal from e-Sewa Kendra found in every court complex. Even before the launch of the portal, the e-Sewa Kendra allowed people to find information on the status of their cases and obtain copies of judgments and orders. The Chief Justice will also inaugurate an online alternate dispute resolution mechanism called WeSolve. Judges in Kerala will be able to refer disputes to WeSolve and the parties can conduct negotiations on the platform without having to physically meet in a same location.
