The Thenmala Eco-tourism Project, 72 km from Thiruvananthapuam, developed around the Shenduruney Wildlife Sanctuary is being promoted as the country's first planned eco-tourism destination. This new concept in tourism is aimed to promote a responsible tourism industry, which does not disturb the region's ecosystem.
