Kolkata Family Worships 4-Year-Old Fatima For Durga Puja Ritual
Over 120 years ago, Swami Vivekananda worshiped the daughter of a Muslim boatman in Jammu and Kashmir. Kumari Puja is a common form of worship of Goddess Durga, where little girls are worshiped as a symbol of the goddess. This year, four-year-old Fatima has come down to Kolkata all the way from UP's Fatehpur Sikri with her mother where she was worshiped at Tamal Dutta's house.
