Kolkata's Nahoums Celebrates Spirit Of Christmas: Jewish Bakery, Muslim Baker, Christian Festival

Kolkata News | A 122-year-old bakery, Nahoums in Kolkata sees long queues during Christmas for its very popular Christmas cakes and the bakery has even been mentioned in Parliament by Rajya Sabha MP Derek O'Brien for is unique example of pluralism. A viral clip-on social media quotes the Trinamool Leader in the Rajya Sabha saying, "There is a Jewish bakery in Calcutta, where a week away from Christmas, there must be about 4000 to 5000 jews in India and this Jewish bakery makes delicious Christmas cakes. All the 300 bakers in that bakery belong to one community, they are Muslims. Starting about a week before Christmas there are long lines outside the bakery. They are Bhaskar, Rima, Arun, 80% Hindus. And what are they celebrating? A Christian festival.
