Kolkata Victim's Father: 'Strange No One Looked For On-Duty Doctor In 7 Hours'

Father of the junior doctor raped and murdered at Kolkata's RG Kar hospital on August 9 said he suspects people in the chest medicine department where she worked. Speaking to the media, he expressed surprise that no one looked for the victim, an on-duty doctor on the night of the incident, for seven hours. She last spoke to her mother around 11pm on the night of the incident, he said. The victim remained unreachable on phone after that, and the family learnt about the incident only around 10 am the next morning, he said.
