Laapata Ladies Out Of Oscars Race, Film Federation Of India Faces Backlash
India’s official entry for the 97th Academy Awards, Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies, which received unanimous applause in the country, is now officially out of the Oscars race. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) announced on Wednesday that Laapataa Ladies has failed to make it to the coveted shortlist of 15 films in the Best International Feature category.
