"Law Of Remission Applied Equally": Lawyer Of Bilkis Bano Rape Convict

When asked how would he respond to the judges' question regarding whether this law of remission was being applied equally, Rishi Malhotra, an advocate representing one of the convicts in the Bilkis Bano rape case, said the law was being applied fairly and that he had been instrumental in getting early release for 2,200 convicts in Uttar Pradesh, and that the convicts in this case were overdue for early release as they had spent 15 years in jail when the requirement to qualify for early release is 14 years.
