"Building infrastructure, roads and water transport is deshbhakti for me," said Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on The Townhall. As the Modi government completes two years in office, Mr Gadkari says he is a minister in a hurry. "I want to play like a 20-20 batsman in the next 3 years," he said and that he aimed to build 40 km roads daily. Calling his inability to bring new motor vehicle law a "black spot" on his tenure, he said that in Mercedes hit-and-run case, the father of the juvenile accused should be given "severest punishment". He also took on the Bombay High Court order shifting IPL out of Maharashtra and said that if judges wanted to do government job, they should quit, contest elections and become ministers.
