'Liberals Have Failed, Particularly In India': Mahatma's Grandson Gopal Gandhi
On the Buck Stops Here, Mahatma Gandhi's grandson Gopalkrishna Gandhi talks about his new book and the Modi government's notes ban. Calling for an end to capital punishment, Gopal Gandhi says, "Father of the Nation wouldn't have wanted his killer Godse to be executed." Speaking to NDTV, Gopal Gandhi says, "Liberals have failed, particularly in India, but their ideas haven't," and adds the liberals have become elitist and need to change their self-portrayal. Asked about the Modi government's note ban move, Gopal Gandhi tells NDTV that people of India are looking at this phase as a natural phenomenon, one that is out of their control.
