Lighting up villages
NDTV's greenathon is its big effort for the environment. The greenathon will be raising funds for the 'Light a billion lives' campaign that aims to solar power villages across India, thereby cutting down on the use of kerosene and firewood. Ramsinghpur, a small village in Rajasthan is one such place that's waiting for the project to light up their lives. It's one of the many Indian villages without electricity. When night falls kerosene lamps come on in the village.
