Lord Hanuman's Devotee Installs 6.25-foot Gold-Plated Idol At Home In Surat
An ardent devotee of Lord Hanuman, Angat Lohana, has a 6.25-foot idol of the deity at his home in Surat. The idol was crafted by artisans from Rajasthan in 2010. "I found the 'raudra swaroop' of Lord Hanuman in the Treta Yug very attractive and so I thought, why not get this made. The idea came to my grandfather Sheetal Das Lohana, an ardent Hanuman bhakt. When we decided to get the idol made, we invited artisans from Rajasthan. They crafted the idol at our home here and it took them six months."
