Low Urban Voter Turnout In Gujarat Not Worrying: BJP Leader
On the Election Commission citing low voter turnout in urban areas during the first phase of Gujarat election, BJP leader Bhaskar Ghosh said it's a "statutory responsibility" of the poll body to ask more people to cast their votes. "If one were to compare, the tribal vote in Narmada and the Tapis, for example, has gone up, even if it may be that the overall percentage is down a couple of points," he said, reiterating that the low voter turnout in urban areas was in no way worrying for the BJP.
