When Sir Edwin Lutyens imagined New Delhi, he built a brand new city linking the old with the new. The new city too is now over a 100 years old and the Government now feels that the Central District, the Parliament, Central Vista needs an upgrade. Proposals are being invited but a body of architects now is fuming as they feel the manner in which the government wants to go about this change is, in their words, 'hasty and unplanned'.
