Maharashtra govt retracts admission rule
Relief for over 13 lakh students in Maharashtra after the government on Monday finally retracted its 70:30 regulation for college admissions. The government had suggested implementing a 2003 ruling, which gave preference to students of a particular district for admissions into colleges of the same district.
The government demanded that colleges implement the 70:30 reservation rule giving priority to local students.
