While for many of us living in big cities, the big concern is making sure we drink that prescribed eight glasses of water a day but for many of our country even one is a luxury. As Maharashtra faces its worst drought in 47 years, NDTV travels to the drought-hit areas to show the struggles faced by people living there. This is not a problem unique to Maharashtra, over 43% India is facing drought; the situation is grim in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu etc. A deficient monsoon has also led to over-usage of existing resources leading to 91 major reservoirs across India left with a mere 21 percent of the total storage capacity.
