The upcoming Maharashtra elections' emphasis on big-ticket infrastructure projects has been the spotlight of the Mahayuti campaign, specifically of the BJP. In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw spoke about big infrastructure offerings for the people of Maharashtra. ₹1,64,000 crore are being invested in railways in Maharashtra, said Mr Vaishnaw and added, "There are 6,000 kilometres worth of ongoing projects. For the new projects that have been sanctioned, combined with the bullet train project, and the freight corridor project, we are doing 318 flyovers and underpasses and 132 stations, we are redeveloping from scratch with an investment of 6,400 crores."
