Over the last 24 hours, the Mahua Moitra 'cash-for-questions' saga has unravelled very fast. Multiple developments show the Trinamool MP getting cornered. First the developments in the civil defamation suit filed by Moitra. The case was postponed to October 31 after her lawyer, Gopal Shankaranarayanan, withdrew from the case. This came as Jai Dehadrai, Mahua Moitra's ex, told the high court that the senior counsel had called him the previous evening and tried to mediate between him and the MP. The chairman of the Ethics Committe Vinod Sonkar told NDTV that the committee has received the affidavit of businessman Darshan Hiranandani and that he could be summoned soon.
