Malnutrition: ICDS programme failing in bits
When NDTV team traveled across the country looking at how the ICDS programme was working, it found stories of corruption and indifference and some success stories also at places. But despite that, malnutrition is widespread. The problem, we found was not just faulty anganwadis but the fact that millions of children below the age of two did not reach anganwadis and it is this age group that needs special focus since they can make or break the fight against malnutrition.
