The West Bengal government has decided to give an additional 18 per cent Dearness Allowance (DA) to state government employees from January next year. The announcement came on Jamai Shashti - or 'Day of the Son-in-Law' - when married men employed by the state government have been given half a day's paid leave in line with the perk announced five years ago.
