Mamata Banerjee faces police complaints over Assam citizens' list comments
Several police complaints have been filed in Assam against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over her comments on the Assam National Register of Citizens or NRC. She had said the NRC exercise would lead to a “civil war” and “bloodbath”. Her party the Trinamool Congress has also filed a First Information Report or FIR in Kolkata against Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal over the NRC issue.
