Mamata Banerjee vs PM Modi: Row Over CBI Action
The unprecedented showdown between the Kolkata Police and the CBI has turned into a fight between Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the centre just ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. The CBI says it was justified in coming to the house of the Kolkata Police chief Rajeev Kumar even without a warrant, as he had allegedly not replied to summons for the last two years. The government led by Mamata Banerjee says the centre was trying to settle political score.
