West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stood up by protesting junior doctors who were invited to the state secretariat for a meeting, she apologized and said she was not enamoured of the top post and was ready to step down. But the doctors who are protesting the rape and murder of a fellow doctor at the RG Kar hospital don't appear to be in any mood to relent. They have several demands - not least of all - that the meeting with the Chief Minister must be televised. Today, Mamata Banerjee waited for the doctors in an empty hall but they didn't show up, despite what the Supreme Court recently said when the Chief Justice said it was time for the doctors to get back to work.
