Manipur Detains 29 Suspected Bangladeshis, Intensifies Crackdown On Illegal Immigrants
Manipur authorities have detained 29 individuals suspected of being illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, who were found with Aadhar cards from Assam. Chief Minister N. Biren Singh stated that the detainees would be handed over to Assam for further investigation. The officials who facilitated their entry into Manipur with Inner Line Permits have been suspended. The state government has announced an intensified crackdown on illegal immigrants from Bangladesh and Myanmar.
