Manual Scavengers: India's Harsh Reality
Cleanliness or 'swachhta' has become the buzz word for the country as the government has laid a lot of emphasis on the issue through their Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. But those who clean our streets, sewers and gutters, they are treated like dirt. They are also exposed to many health hazards as they live a life without any protection. This is the harsh reality of manual scavengers.
