Manual scavenging: Ban an eyewash?
The coming monsoon session of Parliament will see a new bill to eradicate manual scavenging in the country. Though manual scavenging was banned over 19 years ago, the shocking practice continues. According to the Census 2011, there are nearly 8 lakh households which depend on manual scavenging.
