A railway track was blown up on Sainthia-Andal section of Eastern Railways on the first day of the 48-hour shutdown by Maoists in West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar on Monday. Three metres of the railway track between Panchsura and Bhimgarh in Birbhum district was found to have been blown up by the railway staff when they went to the spot for routine inspection in the morning, railway sources said.
