Maruti's Manesar plant: The problems behind labour unrest

The plant has 3,000 permanent workers while 2,800 are on contract. While permanent workers get a minimum Rs 23,000 per month, those working on contract are paid only Rs 9,500, and this disparity is the root of most of Maruti's problems.
