Mayawati opens Rs 685-crore park
After she inaugurated the memorial park, the UP Chief Minister took to the podium and talked social equity and, eye on state elections in 2012, launched into an election speech. She played the Dalit card right through, explaining that she had the park built so that the poor of UP that migrated to the national capital could have a "green park" to visit.
