The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has won the election to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), dislodging the BJP from power after 15 years. The Arvind Kejriwal-led party has vowed to improve civic amenities. The BJP took solace in securing over a hundred wards despite exit polls predicting its rout. The AAP won 132 seats, well past the halfway mark in the 250-member civic body, as against the BJP's 104. The Congress has won nine wards. Addressing supporters at the party office in Delhi, Mr Kejriwal said he would try to live up to people's expectations and urged all parties to come together to improve Delhi.
