Meghalaya women empowerment a farce
Meghalaya has been known for it's matriarchal society, a concept contrary to the patriarchal trend across rest of India. But now questions are being raised, if women here are truly empowered in the state? Though there are more women voters here than men, politically women in Meghalaya are nowhere, since they can't become a village or tribal chief. Nor can they choose the village chief and that's where the party politics begin.
