Milind Deora spoke to NDTV after quitting the Congress and joining Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena. Responding to the Congress's jibe that he chose this day to defect to eclipse Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Mr Deora said, "It's unfortunate if Congress has said that because it goes to show how entitled the Congress has become. If a big leader of the party is leaving, the party should address their concerns. Instead, they are debating if it is the right day or the wrong day. It's ridiculous. I am shocked that they have said that. Tomorrow is Makar Sankranti, which in Maharashtra and Mumbai is a very important day. Unfortunately, Congress doesn't know about India's culture and has lost touch with our culture. It is a day of new beginnings. It was an auspicious day and the yatra was not in my mind."
