Militant groups target adivasis
Around 150-years-ago the adivasis had migrated from undivided Bengal-Bihar-Orissa to settle in the hills of Upper Assam. They used to be primarily hunters and gatherers who were brought to the tea estates by the British, and now they are returning to arms back in the forests with militant groups having zeroed in on them for recruitment.
