Milk prices in Maharashtra are spiralling and yet the dairy farmers continue to make less money for the milk they sell. Members of the influential cartel - many of them ministers in the Vilasrao Deshmukh government are paying dairy farmers a pittance while charging huge premiums when selling the milk in cities.
