Mizoram is all set for the counting of votes in all the 40 seats of the state legislative Assembly. Over 4,000 counting personnel have been engaged, and they were provided training. The counting will take place in 40 counting halls at the 13 counting centres across the state. Mizoram went to the polls on November 7, and over 80 per cent of over 8.57 lakh voters cast their votes to decide the electoral fate of 174 candidates, including 16 women. The main contest has been between the two regional parties -- the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) and the new regional political force, the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM). National parties like the Congress and the BJP are also testing waters here.
