Speaking to NDTV, Swapan Dasgupta, Rajya Sabha MP and someone who has followed the temple movement since the Rath Yatra, told NDTV that it is a momentous development. He said today's event was an important and much needed correction of the wrongs of the past, adding pseudo secularism got so much currency because "what we saw was very one-sided and biased. However, to say that this is leading to a majoritarian government whereby only the sensitiveness of the majority community will be considered and therefore they can trample upon anyone else's sensitivity, I don't think that the situation is going to come about in India," he said.
