While rain is bringing relief from the scorching heat in northern India, it's also impacting lakhs of people across states with landslides and flash floods. The Chandigarh-Manali highway was blocked due to landslides, leading to traffic jams spreading to 15 km. There were landslides in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi as well, and not just in the hills, heavy rainfall impacted the plains too, with waterlogging leading to jams in Maharashtra's Bhiwandi. The impact is clear across states as the weather department says the monsoon has already covered 80% of India.
