Former Finance Minister's son Karti Chidambaram has been sent to five-day CBI custody; his father P Chidambaram and mother Nalini were present in court and a worried father also asked to take care in custody. Karti Chidambaram's lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi had present several counters to the CBI's demand for custody, and had also denied all charges on NDTV, but NDTV had found that Karti Chidambaram owned Advantage via another company, Ausbridge Holdings. Ausbridge, in which he owned a majority stake, bought a majority stake in Advantage in 2010, before exiting in 2012. In a phone interview in 2016, Karti Chidambaram admitted to an indirect ownership of Advantage, but said he exited very soon afterwards. On Reality Check, an NDTV investigation has found that Karti Chidambaram does indeed have links to at least three of those companies.
