This week our special episode emanates from Pench Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra. Pench with its extravagant history and rich bio-diversity was chosen as the location for the Kids For Tigers annual camp 2014. An initiative of Aircel and Sanctuary Asia, Kids For Tigers was started in the year 2000 and reaches over 5 million students. 7 Tiger Ambassadors, which were carefully chosen after rounds of interviews at each city, join from all across the country. The children were taken on a special safari with an experienced naturalist Dr. Parvesh Pandya who educate the students about the intricacies of wildlife and nature, while unearthing the hidden wonders of the forests that lay in front of them. Also, actress Dia Mirza, the campaign ambassador of Sanctuary’s Leave Me Alone Initiative, surprised the children with a special visit at the camp. She signed for the Save Our Tiger Agenda and gave a morale boosting talk to the forest guards of Pench. A special nature walk was also organised The Children who were extremely thrilled with this once in a lifetime opportunity were honoured at the event. The episode also takes a look at the Special Tiger Protection Force of Pench and the men and women that are part of the force that helps safeguard our jungles.
