Much ado over moon sighting for Eid
Most say it's time to go back to the drawing board and turn to the moon for answers. In 2006, the Eid ka Chaand was eclipsed by science. A progressive cleric Maulana Kalbe Sadiq had predetermined October 25 as Eid. His argument was that deciding Eid on the basis of sighting the moon was a dated practice and a practice Prophet Mohammad himself wanted discarded as civilisation progressed.
