Mumbai HC hard on illegal chowkies
On Wednesday, the Bombay High Court came down hard on the Mumbai police for failing to take action against illegal beat chowkies.The court was hearing a PIL filed by a Mumbai resident, who claims that many police posts or chowkies supposed to be built at government cost for police use were in fact causing obstruction to the public at large.
