Mumbai malls ignore fire security
Pheonix Mills, Atria, Big Bazaar, Globus are just a few of the 22 Mumbai malls, which the city fire department calls virtual death traps. A survey by the department shows that in most malls the fire escape was either too narrow or blocked or worse still locked out. While many malls did have fire extinguishers, they were not in working condition. Equipment like hoses for water supply were either missing or not properly maintained.
