Mumbai: Revival of forestland in limbo
The Bombay High Court recently declared 120 acres of land surrounding the Sanjay Gandhi National Park as forestland. This ruling has put the future of as much as 1.5 lakh families settled on this land in limbo. With the state government moving the Supreme Court in appeal, there seems little chance of this land actually being afforested again.
