Mumbai's Aarey Metro Car Shed To Be Shifted In Big Victory For Green Warriors

It's a victory for green warriors. The Aarey Metro car shed in Mumbai, which was at the centre of a bitter controversy between environmentalists and the erstwhile BJP-ruled Maharashtra government, will be shifted to Kanjurmarg, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced today adding that around 800 acres of land in Aarey has been declared a reserve forest. We discuss the importance of this move and the tightrope between development and environment.
