NAFED faces CBI probe

India's largest agricultural cooperative body, NAFED, is facing a CBI probe for the alleged misappropriation of funds to the tune of 900 crore rupees. The Delhi High Court ordered the probe after a PIL. The court had earlier ordered an interim inquiry by the Comptroller and Auditor General, which discovered the massive misappropriation of money in the procurement of mustard seeds in 2005.
